We are experiencing a Cannabis revolution. More and more countries accept cannabis as a therapeutic alternative. Medical marijuana and best CBD rich Hemp strains of 2020 are being approved in more and more countries. For this reason, more and more research centers and scientists decide to carry out studies on the benefits that this plant has on the human body. Now, a recent study by the Institute of Molecular Psychiatry at the University of Bonn has reached a new conclusion.

Cannabis Against Brain Aging

This latest study focuses on the potential of THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana. They have found that it can significantly slow the aging of the brain in older people.

A Very Significant Study

The study was carried out in a group of mice, both young and old. These had completely different reactions, depending on the amount of THC supplied.

The results were very clear: the mice that were older significantly increased their thinking ability. It also increased his brain performance. Meanwhile, the youngest mice encountered the opposite situation, according to the journal Natura Medicine.

This research seeks to show that there are possibilities that this experiment also works in humans. In other words, we could be facing progress in issues such as dementia or Alzheimer’s. This research focuses on how to contribute to brain regeneration during old age.

In Israel, they have already carried out some experiments. In them, a minimum dose was given to a group of older adults who suffer from loss of appetite and insomnia. The results were really positive. Doctors assure that there are great improvements in brain activation.

Study In Humans

With success obtained in mice and the recent success in Israel, the Institute of Molecular Psychiatry president at the University of Bonn, Andreas Zimmer, assures that the results obtained in the laboratory can end up being applied to humans as well.

What’s more, the study is being carried out with the aim of being tested to treat diseases such as dementia or Alzheimer’s.

Scientists Bilkey Gorzo has also been studying to see how the following study works out. He assures that “human beings have an endocannabinoid system very similar to that of mice.” Therefore, the chances of success are very likely.

While it is true that the advancement of marijuana as a pain reliever is well known, research is now focused on cell regeneration.
